Crossing Bridges in British Columbia

A number of mental health professionals gathered for lunch at the White Spot Restaurant in Vancouver to meet the West Regional Director and to talk about the future of CAPS in British Columbia. Marisol McRae, a member of the West Board of Directors, noted the particular challenges inherent in holding regular meetings in Vancouver, with the greatest barriers being its many bridges, which create geographical and/or psychological barriers between the various suburbs. Those in attendance were encouraged by the time together and eager to discuss issues related to the integration of their work and their faith. A lively discussion ensued that emphasized not only the importance of maintaining CAPS’ focus as a professional association, but also the need to develop a Christian model of counseling.
