Space Needle at night

Singing in Seattle

My late arrival via the Coast Starlight at King Street Station failed to dampen the spirits of an energetic Sue Carey, my Seattle hostess. We caught a glimpse of the Space Needle at night, and early the next morning, she and Robbie Boykin gave me the royal guided tour. We started with coffee at Tully’s, checked out the fare at Pike’s Place Market, and watched the Navy’s Blue Angels fly over Peugeot Sound. Our ferry ride to Bainbridge Island and a little more coffee in Poulsbo made us a bit late for our CAPS meeting on Mercer Island. However, Bob Carsrud had already arrived at Sue’s house and graciously welcomed those who came to hear about what’s happening in CAPS.

As Sue and Robbie put the finishing touches on our refreshments for the evening, I provided an overview of Heart, Soul, and Mind, a CAPS West Special Event held recently at Vanguard University of Southern California. Those who had gathered then discussed the possibilities of scheduling a Special Event in Seattle for June 2005 and elected Seattle’s new Area Coordinator, Dr. Bob Carsrud, who rounded out the evening by leading us in singing songs of praise and thanksgiving to the Lord.

Heartfelt thanks go to our hostesses, Sue and Robbie, for a wonderful time of fellowship!
